StepApp Oral Hygiene Campaign to be launched in October

As part of his commitment to improve health, education and raise awareness, Stephen Appiah and the StepApp team will be launching an Oral Hygiene Campaign in October which will run till June next year to promote a healthy Ghana.

Good oral hygiene is one of the key factors of a healthy life, and poor, unhealthy teeth can cause a huge amount of problems and pain and also result in increased absenteeism in the case of affected school children.

It is StepApp's belief that it is best to increase the awareness of children on the importance of proper and regular oral hygiene as the habits learnt in childhood will continue into adulthood, and will be passed on to the next generation.

The programme which i being run till June next year, seeks to use Stephen Appiah as a mentor to encourage the youth to adopt healthy lifestyles and to promote a healthy society.

The programme also seeks to increase school attendance by attracting children to participate in the program while in school

Under the program, teachers from selected schools would be trained in Good oral hygiene to equip them with knowledge and skills to effectively carry out oral hygiene campaigns in their respective schools.

About 3000 school children and sixty school teachers are expected to benefit from the program each year.

Two training workshops on Good Oral Hygiene for teachers will be organised in October and this will help equip the teachers for the job ahead
