Pepsi teamed up with world renowned footballers including Stephen Appiah to promote their brand before the 2006 World Cup in Germany.

They were a topsy turvy set of games with Mali qualifying at one stage and Nigeria going out but the whole group turned upside down when Nigeria and Ivory Coast scored around the same time. It meant Mali had to chase the game and they conceeded more goals as a result of that.
